It’s fun exploring the blogs on the Internet. Here’s a quick story I ran across on Point & Shoot.
We’re having the cutest boy over for dinner tonight. (Remember, I consider anyone under 30 “a boy”.)
No, it’s not this cute boy.
L, the boy coming over tonight is even hotter because he’s a boy of color.
How did L come into the picture? It was like this:
A good friend of mine knew a young guy, N, from work. The two of them went out for coffee a few times. My friend had a feeling that the guy was gay, but it wasn’t discussed. Eventually my friend introduced his partner to N. His partner also thought he was gay.
One evening my friend sent a text and said he and his partner were taking N to the gay bar, which surprised me. They wanted me to join them. I went to the bar, saw N with my friends and thought, “Oh my God, he’s cute!” They introduced me to N and we hit it off, communication wise that is.
I took my friend aside and asked, “So did N come out to you yet?” My friend said, “No”, and since he worked with N he didn’t want to pursue it.My friends left early, but N stayed. We sat down at the bar, I told him my life story, in a condensed manner, of course. We had a few more drinks and he told me about his life, except for the gay part. Then I popped the questions, “So, do your folks know you’re gay?” He didn’t freak out, he calmly said, “No, I’m not out to anyone except you.”
I didn’t expect that answer, but I was honored that he told me first, especially since I just met him. Before we left I gave him a big hug and told him to call or text if he needed to talk.
We started texting regularly, and we often met for drinks at the bar. When guys talked to us, we jokingly told them that N was my “gay son”. (Actually, he is younger than my sons.) We also discovered we had the same taste in men!
I told my partner T about N, and we agreed that we should invite him over for dinner. We had a pleasant evening. N told T that he was glad he met me, and that I helped him become more confident as a gay man. (I almost cried happy tears.) We’ve been close friends ever since.
(Be patient, I’m getting to the cute boy of color.)
N was secretly dating a guy before I met him. After he came out, his boyfriend (who was also closeted) got bent out of shape because N was coming out. They broke up. It was hard on N, but he soon realized it was for the best.
A few months later N met L (the cute boy of color) at the bar. They hit it off, and they’re still dating today. T and I invited them over for dinner a few weeks ago, and we had a great time.
Sunday night I was at the bar and ran into L. He was with a girlfriend. I thought he seemed down, so I asked him if he was OK. He said he was, but that N was out of town for 2 weeks and he missed him. I said, “You should come over, we’ll hang out and watch a movie.” He was excited. I also invited to come over another evening for dinner.
L came over Monday night. I rented a movie on the Apple TV, Role Models, which was funny in spots, but just OK. We had good time, though.
Tonight L is coming over for dinner. You know I love to cook for friends, but I enjoy it even more when it’s someone as hot as L! I even had wet dreams about him the other night. (Don’t worry, I’ll control myself!)

The first picture on this post is hauntingly beautiful. I can’t imagine anything among nature’s creations more perfect.
Hey! Thanks for the Shout Out!
