Some artists intrigue you. Others captivate and haunt you. E Hirano dazzles you. Or perhaps he does all of the above.
E Hirano is a Japanese-Mexican visual artist working in Mexico. He’s been painting since his earliest memory. Eventually he found that painting the human body was the perfect way to express his artistic needs. He has experimented with almost every art form through the years, which has led to his work falling almost exclusively in the visual arts, being male erotica my principal subject. His influences range from renaissance, art deco, Avant Garde and Modernism.
“It’s amazing how religion use many things to create fear, an institution that prides itself on providing love is in charge of scare us even with our own body, undermining the female figure, making us believe that it is okay if a woman is naked because they teach us to see women as an object, then a naked man is not okay because is comparable to a woman so that makes it even worse, we should redefine our values and understand that the human body is the most beautiful and pure thing for our own kind, and take away from our genitals the stigma of sin, destruction and degradation.
When we learn to celebrate the miracle of our specie, then this world will be different.“
I became an instant fan the moment I saw E Hirano’s work. I love art deco, an art-form that is evident here and incorporated into the male erotica genre. The delicate and intelligent sophistication of Hirano’s stunning work embodies the vast scope of humanity’s creative imagination.
Many of us wouldn’t consider taking off our clothes in a public setting. A few are even hesitant in the locker room after a workout; they will wrap a towel around their waist before taking off their underwear to avoid exposing themselves. But many men (and women) sense they are missing something by not trying new adventures such as a nude beach. The boldest among us may find themselves curious about such daring endeavors as yoga in the nude.

Yoga in the nude is quite different than getting naked on a crowded, impersonal nude beach. You find yourself in a much more intimate setting. You have a connection with the other guys and/or gals that are on mats two or three feet away from you. Depending on your physical condition or your level of yoga skills, you may at first feel self-conscious or intimidated. After all you’re naked and about to have a challenging workout.
Yoga in the nude is different from nude beaches or locker room showers in other ways as well. In close proximity to others, your body will be getting into positions that are uniquely revealing. The most intimate areas of your body will frequently be exposed. You’ll often be on your hands and knees. You’ll be sticking your ass up in the air. You’ll be spreading your legs in myriad body positions. This may serve to discourage you, but don’t let it. The others, except for perhaps your instructor, will be too occupied with their own workouts to have the time or inclination to check you out.
The following article from qnotes.com is about the writer’s first time in a nude yoga class, an experience much like the one I had, and what growing numbers of other men are having around the world. It’s truly remarkable, after all the apprehension one feels by making the commitment, how quickly you forget about your own and others’ nudity, and focus solely on the workout. I can tell you from personal experience that that is the case, plus it gives you an enlightening sense of freedom and exhilaration.

Yoga instructor Joey Barnes enters the room where his class is set to begin in just a few minutes. He drops his bag and opens his folded notes, making a last mental record of the movement and balance poses he has planned for this afternoon’s session.
After a quick scan he puts the paper in his pocket and removes his jacket, shoes and socks. He is left wearing a tank top and track pants. An agreeable uniform for the practice of yoga — in most instances anyway.
In a moment these items are also peeled off and Barnes is nude. He turns his attention to the similarly unclothed assemblage of men resting cross-legged before him. I sit nervously among them. Following a genial exchange of hellos and how have you beens, Charlotte’s first and only naked yoga class for men gets underway.
I take a deep breath and try to relax. “Why in the world do people want to do this,” I wonder silently.
In no time my muscles are burning and my mind is solely focused on the practice. The earlier awkward awareness of my own nakedness is completely wiped away. Time passes quickly and when the class is over, like most, I mill around the snack table making smalltalk.
If not for the fact that we are all undressed, this could be any mixer I’ve ever been to. It occurs to me how comfortable I have become with my own naked body in such a short period of Continue reading →
Ed Barron has long since been comfortable in his own skin, whether he is being photographed or being painted or drawn in an art class. He often works in the nude, chosen by artists and photographers not because he is a youthful Adonis, but simply a photogenic, beautiful man. Chosen for the character in his face, his well-shaped body, and for his understanding of the elements that must come together to make fine art.
Ed will turn sixty next month. He grew up in Florida and is currently living in Boston. When asked, he says he is from many places. He has lived in North Florida, Arkansas, Japan (military), California, Oregon, Washington, Amsterdam NL, Washington again, Arizona, South Florida,
Ed is one of Michael Bilotta’s favorite models. More on Michael here.
Ed was married for 28 years, has 3 children and 2 grand children. He started modeling for artists when he lost his business in the economic crash of 2008. He had always had attractions to men and when his marriage ended he decided to embrace and explore his same-sex feelings. When an opportunity to model with another man came along, it turned out to be the first time he had ever touched another man. The encounter got sensuous and at times a bit erotic but never sexual. Ed has been openly gay ever since. The following is a photograph taken at that shoot with Rick. When asked what motivated him to enter the world of nude male photography:
“I am an exhibitionist. I love the nude male body and am quiet proud of mine – given my age. The only thing I like better than being nude in a public setting is being the only one nude in a public setting. So, modeling for the camera is a natural extension of this propensity to show off.” Ed says he has always been an exhibitionist. He can remember playing nude with his friends growing up in Florida. Skinny dipping has always been part of his life. When he was married, he took many nude vacations with his family; they were members of a nude club in Washington State.
When asked if he shares his photographs.
“I share my photos selectively. I am not ashamed of any of them but I have done everything from erection/ejaculation shoots to classic fine art nudes. So not everything I do can be shown to a wide audience. But, I haven’t been getting much call for the erotic stuff lately. I haven’t pursued it and it hasn’t pursued me so I don’t know if that phase has passed or not. My favorite type of shoot is one with a theme like the one with Rick. I also have enjoyed working with Michael Bilotta because he is so creative.” What does Ed think of the male body in general?
“I think the male body is a beautiful masterpiece. I love all body types but really like a hairy chest. Not into the shaved look that so many are going for these days.” Like most everyone, whether they admit it or not, he is tempted to look at male nudity in locker rooms or anywhere the opportunity presents itself.
When it comes to faith, Ed sees himself as spiritual. He grew up in a southern fundamentalist Continue reading →
For those who know the joy of riding a bicycle, feeling the breeze in your face, feeling your muscles at work and in tune with the machine, watching the road pass beneath your front wheel, you can imagine the thrill of naked bike riding.
The World Naked Ride, an event that attracts unexpected numbers, perhaps an event that has come to your city. They gather in parks and parking lots, pump up their tires and take off their clothes. Through city streets lined with onlookers they go, countless cameras and cell phones snapping pictures. The common thread: they’re naked and they’re smiling.
Long gone are the days when the male form was considered an unacceptable or lewd photographic subject. Nude photographic art is just that, art, a presentation of the human body, male or female. Here are some of the photographers that understand that and celebrate images of the male form through their camera lens with talented and thoughtful compositions.
I wanted to share an experience, something I haven’t told anyone about which happened once or maybe twice. When I was 5 or 6 years old my elder brother who at that time would’ve been around 12 or 13, got me naked and rubbed his penis in my ass crack, and surprisingly enough I enjoyed it even though I didn’t know at the time that it was something sexual. That feeling has been in my mind since. Not that I’m attracted to my brother, or any men, but I did like that feeling of something against my ass.
Does that mean something ?
This is the kind of thing almost all boys do at some point or another, usually out of natural curiosity. Young boys naturally like doing things they aren’t supposed to, especially things that are naughty. It’s part of growing up. You didn’t know your brother’s activity was sexual, but you most likely knew it was something that you didn’t want to get caught doing. That coupled with the fact it felt good is what caused it to lodge in your memory all these years in a positive way.
The bigger picture has to do with the sensitive nerve endings in that part of your body, which is the reason so many adults, both men and women, enjoy anal sex. Anal sex is common and is a normal part of the retinue of sexual pleasures. In fact anal sex is one of the most intimate of sexual pleasures. Many people associate anal sex with gay activity, which of course it is, but certainly not limited to gay men. Straight men can enjoy it as well, with dildos during masturbation, or with fingers or adult toys with their wives or girlfriends.
So the memory that’s whispering in your ear is something else you can ponder and explore. If you have a girlfriend, you might want to introduce her to anal sex by using your fingers or tongue, then you can judge by her response whether or not she would like to explore further. Or you might want to explore by yourself, using plenty of lubrication and an appropriately shaped toy or vegetable. You might, if you are single and have a like-minded friend, consider a little exploring with him. Just have fun and don’t worry about what other misguided people might think.
My name is Abhay and I’m 18. I’m a big fan of Enlightened Male and I find it quite interesting. For like an year or so I’m in a dilemma and I feel that you’re the perfect person to help me with it. I’m having a same-sex fantasy and they are sexual in nature. It’s not like I’m attracted to the same sex but I do have urges to perform oral sex or please a man. The more I think about it the more intense the fantasy becomes, but when I masturbate it’s all gone and I feel disgusted. I don’t know what to do. The emotions are very intense.
Many straight men have same-sex fantasies. Often in the aftermath of a climax, they feel the same kind of disgust and shame you do. First of all, the fantasy is normal. By having the fantasy, it doesn’t automatically follow you are latent gay or even bisexual. A fantasy is just that, a fantasy and nothing more. Almost everyone has them and they are often out-of-character for the individual. In other words, people get turned on by their fantasies but they would never dream of actually acting on them. So the solution is to simply accept the fact your fantasy turns you on and enjoy masturbating to it.
As for the disgust you feel afterwards: I believe this is rooted in our lifelong indoctrination of what it means to be a “real” man. You’ve been taught that real men would never have oral sex with another man, or even think about it; therefore you feel disgusted and guilty after your climaxes. It’s important to remember the fantasy is normal and means nothing. It has nothing to do with your sexuality or who you are. In the event your fantasy takes on more significance as you grow older, there is nothing wrong with that either. I personally believe it is natural for men to feel a real desire for other men, and that most men feel this way to some degree or another, though many wouldn’t never admit it or act on it.
So be yourself. Enjoy your fantasies. With a little determination, I think your feelings of disgust will eventually evaporate like a wisp of smoke.
Nude couples, male and female. It’s a case of two parts equal the whole. That’s the scheme of things. That’s the recipe which makes the world go around. There is something about an image of a man and woman together that is uniquely satisfying to all of us, whether we are a player in this scenario or not, whether we can see ourselves personally intimate with the opposite sex or not. It’s an image that speaks of the future, an image that defines the fundamental purpose of Mother Nature, an image that generates piece of mind and sensual imaginings.
Secluded alone together in the wild, male and female (or any other human couple for that matter), uninhibited, sans clothes. It’s an adventure many will never experience, but it’s not difficult to imagine how thrilling or rewarding the experience would be. At least we can daydream.
Has she found herself in a regrettable position or is she contemplating paradise?
